Louis E. Valencia II
Partner
Louis is a founding partner of the firm and a member of the National Immigration Project, the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA), the Ohio Bar and the Federal Bar. He concentrates his practice in the areas of criminal defense, family law, immigration, personal injury and business law. Louis has Hispanic ethnicity; his parents and four siblings were all born in Colombia, South America and immigrated here to Cincinnati in 1963. Louis was born here in Cincinnati, Ohio. He grew up between the Colombian culture and the American culture giving him an understanding of the importance to respect all cultures.
Deifilia M. Diaz
Partner
Deifilia was born and raised in Mexico City, Mexico. She graduated with honors from the Department of Law Instituto Technológico of higher learning, the Monterrey Campus in the United States of Mexico. In 2006, she moved to Cincinnati with her family. In 2011, she graduated from the Northern Kentucky Chase College of Law. Deifilia is licensed to practice law in both Kentucky and Mexico.
Deifilia concentrates her practice in the area of immigration law, particularly for victims, including but not limited to, victims of domestic violence, human trafficking and special immigrant juvenile status petitions.

Yesenia Galindo
Litigation Paralegal Supervisor
Yesenia Galindo joined the firm in 2012. In 2013, she was promoted to paralegal and in 2016 she became a supervisor. She has five years’ experience in immigration. Yesenia assists with removal proceedings, asylums, adjustment of status, and special immigrant juvenile status. Having lived through the same struggles as the firm’s clients, she dreams of becoming an immigration attorney. Yesenia was born in Mexico City. She is fluent in Spanish and English.
Jeremy Kohler
Admin. Paralegal Supervisor
Jeremy Kohler joined the team in November 2016, helping to fight for immigrant’s rights every step of the way. Previously a teacher of Spanish, Jeremy has a Master of Arts in Spanish and a Bachelor’s in Spanish Education. He grew up in the Dayton area and is glad to be back in Cincinnati, continuing to help others, only in a different way this time around. He is bilingual in English and Spanish, conversational in Portuguese, and is working on his French.
David Alcala
Paralegal
David G. Alcala Contreras, has been with Valencia & Diaz since October 2016. He has worked nearly ten years in customer service. He currently assists with the consular process, adjustment of status, VAWA (Violence Against Woman Act), naturalization, DACA renewals, and Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests. David was born in Mexico and is fluent in Spanish and English, having attended middle school and high school in the U.S.
Victoria Barber Emery
Paralegal
Victoria Barber Emery has been with the firm since 2017. She has over twenty years’ experience in small business ownership as well as experience working in law firms, corporate legal departments and legal nonprofits. She has a Bachelor’s in Journalism, an Associate’s in Paralegal Studies and an Associate’s in Graphic Design. Victoria’s is from the Cincinnati area. She is currently learning to speak Spanish to better assist our clients.
Yanet Anguiano
Receptionist
Yanet Anguiano moved from San Francisco to the Cincinnati area in December of 2016. She began working at The Law Offices of Valencia & Diaz in April 2107. Previous to joining the law firm, she worked in customer service for six years. Yanet attended San Mateo College for Liberal Arts. She currently assists clients with their employment authorization documents and the naturalization process. She is fluent in both Spanish and English.
Silvia Nuñez
Receptionist
Silvia Ivette Nuñez has been working at The Law Offices of Valencia & Diaz since 2017. She is originally from Texas where she worked as a student assistant librarian at the Texas Tech University School of Law. She graduated from Texas Tech University with a Bachelor of Arts in University Studies. Silvia is fluent in Spanish and she continues to develop her skills so she can better assist the clients and employees at Valencia & Diaz.
